Dolce & Gabbana Fall Winter 2012-13. #MFW
When I think of all the cultural wealth Italy does not seem strange that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana take inspiration from Italian food or Italian city architecture. For autumn winter 2012, the inspiration came from Sicily and the Baroque era in that city.
The display of materials, prints and silhouettes was pretty special, inspired by the baroque, not only in baroque architecture, they were inspired by all the Baroque influence in the seventeenth century; painting, religion and landscapes. While watching the costumes reminded the work of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo who painted children and religious images similar to those used by Stefano and Domenico. The collection was really exciting, lace and prints were two key pieces in the collection, some parts were body concious and some others followed the trend oversize. Dolce & Gabbana took us through a beautiful and artistic journey into the past, it is always nice to see collections as well executed and particularly special.
